We consider our 41st year to be year one of the #Next40. We want this foundational year to be saturated in prayer and would love for you to join us!
We’ve created a guide called 40 Days of Prayer for Ffald y Benin. You can download and print it here, or you can simply follow the list below. Don’t worry about starting on a certain date, just begin whenever you like and pray for 40 days. Thank you for interceding for us and with us!
Team & Trustees
DAY 1: Pray for God’s presence: that each team member and trustee would experience intimacy with God and serve out of overflow.
DAY 2: Pray for physical health: for healing from illness and injury, and for immunity against viruses and infections. Pray that all organs and bodily systems would be strong and function as they should.
DAY 3: Pray for mental health: that God’s peace, hope, and clarity would reign. Pray for healthy neural pathways that enable efficient cognitive function, emotional regulation, and life-giving thoughts.
DAY 4: Pray for healthy rhythms: restful sleep, the wisdom to know what is good (Isaiah 55:1-3), and the discipline to resist unhealthy distractions.
DAY 5: Pray for families and relationships: for meaningful connection, healthy communication, answered prayer, reconciliation, and generational blessing.
DAY 6: Pray for financial provision: That God would supply every need of each team member and trustee according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Phil 4:19).
DAY 7: Pray for safe travel to and from Ffald y Brenin, which involves winding, steep roads (often in inclement weather!) and long distances for many.
DAY 8: Pray for team unity: that we would work well together, understand each other, bear each other’s burdens, and spur one another on to good works.
DAY 9: Pray for wisdom for the trustees as they seek God’s guidance on how to best steward Ffald y Brenin’s land, the giftings of the team, Kingdom opportunities, and the resources entrusted to this ministry.
Guests of Ffald y Brenin
DAY 10: Pray that every guest would have a safe journey to Ffald y Brenin and that God would prepare their hearts already on the way.
DAY 11: Pray that any words of blessing spoken over guests here would resonate deeply and come straight from the heart of God.
DAY 12: Pray for day visitors, that though their time here is more limited, God would infuse every minute with his presence and purpose.
DAY 13: Pray that the time guests spend here would be protected from distraction, spiritual attack, or anything else that would hinder what God wants to do in their lives.
DAY 14: Pray for the interactions between guests, that God would continue to masterfully send the right people at the right times to encourage each other.
DAY 15: Pray for bodies and minds to be revived through restful sleep, relaxed rhythms, and time outdoors.
DAY 16: Pray that as guests and team gather for times of Daily Prayer, all would experience the presence of God.
DAY 17: Pray for guests who are grieving, those who are doubting, those who are weary, those who are discouraged, those who feel lost, those who are hurting, those who are cynical, those who are anxious, and those who are seeking.
DAY 18: Pray for the trip home – that each guest would process their time here with the Lord. Pray that the seeds that were planted would not be lost or stolen, but take root and bear much fruit.
Areas of Ministry
DAY 19: Pray for the admin team as they take bookings, serve guests, answer questions, and coordinate (often tricky!) schedules.
DAY 20: Pray for our Ffald y Brenin media – that our videos, resources, and communication capture the heart and creativity of God.
DAY 21: Pray for the hospitality team – for strength, energy, and an eye for detail as they wash laundry, clean bathrooms, and get rooms ready for each new guest. Pray that their efforts would enable each guest to feel God’s hospitable heart.
DAY 22: Pray that the labour that takes place in the gardens is fruitful and not set back by thorns and thistles!
DAY 23: Pray for the buildings/property maintenance: that buildings, tools, and appliances would stay in good repair, and that any issues would be spotted quickly before they become complicated or expensive to fix.
DAY 24: Pray for Local Houses of Prayer, our prayer ministry that flows out to the nations. Pray specifically that Anne and the team would be able to capture the many stories of what God is doing around the world and share them effectively.
DAY 25: Pray for our ministry in Wales. Pray for the Welsh speaking community in the nation. It is our conviction that this small minority are key in seeing breakthrough in the whole nation and beyond. Many have turned their back on a living faith in Jesus, but still participate in chapel life as part of cultural identity. Pray that hearts would be awakened again.
The Spaces
We want every space at Ffald y Brenin to be covered in prayer. Please pray that people would experience God’s presence when they spend time in these places:
DAY 26: THE CHAPEL – Our iconic round prayer room built around bedrock
DAY 27: THE GUEST ROOMS – places of rest
DAY 28: THE PRAYER ROOM – where we often have our times of Daily Prayer, overlooking the valley
DAY 29: THE DAY ROOM – a place for guests to read, have a cup of tea, or meet with each other
DAY 30: THE CENTRE KITCHEN/DINING ROOM – where guests can cook and eat
DAY 31: THE HIGH CROSS – stands high above the valley
DAY 32: THE BENCHES – spots to rest and be still in the gardens
DAY 33: THE FARMHOUSE – where the office team works and guests check in
DAY 34: THE GARDENS – lovingly cultivated by our gardening team to be a place of beauty and intimacy with Jesus
Looking Ahead
DAY 35: Praise God that we now have enough raised (£750,000!) to purchase Penlan Uchaf, the farm next door! Pray that the purchase process goes smoothly.
DAY 36: We are now raising funds (£250,000) for phase 2, so that we can develop Penlan into a usable space. Please pray for this provision.
DAY 37: Pray that we would be sensitive to God’s voice as he continues to reveal his purposes for Penlan.
DAY 38: Pray that we stay focused on God’s vision for Ffald y Brenin #next40 and not get sidetracked by an abundance of well-meaning but ultimately man-made ideas.
DAY 39: Pray that we move forward with courage, staying consistent with God’s original vision to Phyllida . . . but always remaining unhurried and interruptible.
DAY 40: While working on the details of development, pray that we remain anchored on God and His big picture . . . that God is moving across Wales and is doing something new, and that Ffald y Brenin is a part of this movement of God.
