We’re often thinking of ways to create spaces where people can connect with Jesus here at Ffald y Brenin. One of our goals has been to bring some new benches onto the grounds. Over the past few months we’ve been blessed by a number of people who have given financially to help make this vision a reality, and our first one arrived in the early hours of the morning last week! It has a beautiful inscription in Welsh and English.

Its location catches the afternoon sun beautifully, and already we’ve been delighted to see people enjoy the warmth of the sun on their face as they enjoy the silence and peace of the gardens.

Ian, who takes care of the gardens, prayed something beautiful as he sat on the bench. He prayed that all the benches would be “benches of encounter.”

As you sit down to rest,
may you encounter the powerful and intimate presence of Jesus.
May he open your eyes to see what he sees.
May he breathe life into your weary places and make you whole.

As you rise up to stand,
may you do so with renewed reassurance
of his delight, his sovereignty and his care.

And may you walk secure in your identity in Christ,

trusting his hand to guide you through all terrain.

There are still several areas of the grounds where we’d like to put new benches or see old ones replaced. If you’d like to be part of seeing this become reality, we welcome you to sow into this vision!

You can make a donation toward these benches here. Or if you prefer, you can sponsor a bench (in which case you can contact us at martyn@ffald-y-brenin.org and we’ll let you know how that works).
