The Chapel at Ffald y Brenin

The Chapel at Ffald y Brenin is a place where many have encountered the presence of God. The stories are all so personal because God is a personal God who knows each of us by name.

Some have experienced the power of the Holy Spirit and been healed. Others have heard the intimate whisper of God speak into the deepest parts of their soul. Some have been overcome by the truth of the Gospel and given their lives to Jesus. And many have worshipped with full hearts in this space. We often have our times of daily prayer here and guests are warmly welcomed to join.

At the centre of the Chapel sits a rock. When the Chapel was being built, the contractors told Phyllida Mould (the founder of Ffald y Brenin) that this was not just a boulder but bedrock – part of the mountain itself. It would require dynamite to remove it. Instead, they chose to build the Chapel around it. It has become a beautiful visual reminder that Christ is the cornerstone and we are invited to put him at the centre of our lives.
